About Me
I’m Rachael—a mother, storyteller, and published photographer with 15 years of experience behind the lens. Serving Northern California families, I specialize in maternity, newborn, baby, and family photography with a focus on the meaningful connection found in the early years of parenthood.
After years of documenting life through my blog, I found that the images I cherished most were the photographs from the early years of family life. Those images became more than memories—they gave my children a sense of identity, belonging, and connection to their own story. Thats why I’m passionate about creating that same sense of legacy and meaning for the families I photograph.
Through a child-led approach and gentle direction, I create a stress-free experience where your family can relax, connect, and enjoy capturing this season together.

How do I book a session?
Booking your session is quick and easy. Pick a signature session or mini session that best fits your needs, and click “book now.”
You’ll be taken to my booking calendar, where you can inquire, select a date and answer a few questions. (I answer inquiries with 24 hours!) Once confirmed, you’ll review our policies and sign your contract. You’ll receive a confirmation email with all the details and style guidance for your session.
What should I wear?
This is a great question and one I hear often! I’ll provide wardrobe guidance after booking, including color suggestions and inspiration boards to help you create a cohesive look for your family. Soft, neutral, and earthy tones tend to photograph beautifully, but the most important thing is choosing clothing that feels comfortable and true to you. During your session, I’ll guide you with flattering light, natural movement, and gentle direction to create timeless portraits.
When will I receive my photos?
Final edited galleries are delivered within 1–2 weeks of your session. If you need your images sooner, you can add the Express Editing option for 48-hour delivery — you’ll see this available as an add-on during booking!
What’s the difference between a Signature Session and a Mini Session?
Mini sessions are limited-edition portrait experiences offered on select seasonal dates. With a curated location, guided experience, and shorter session length, they’re designed to create timeless, high-quality portraits with ease.
A Signature Session A Signature Session is a fully customized portrait experience designed around your family. Together, we’ll choose a meaningful location and timing that best reflects your vision, with extra time for wardrobe changes, guided posing, natural interactions, and a fuller collection of images that tells your family’s story.
What if I need to cancel?
Your session date is reserved exclusively for your family. If circumstances require a change, please provide at least 7 days’ notice so I can accommodate another family waiting for an opening. Retainers are non-refundable but may be applied toward a future session scheduled within 6 months of your original session date.
As a courtesy, you’re welcome to reschedule once! If a second change is needed, a new deposit will be required for the next session.
(Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your session, or no-shows, cannot be rescheduled.)
What if we’re awkward in front of the camera?
This is one of the most common concerns families share before their session. The good news? You don’t need to know how to pose—that’s my job. With an experienced eye for light, angles, and natural connection, I’ll guide you into positions and movements that photograph beautifully while creating space for genuine moments to unfold. You can relax knowing you’ll be supported every step of the way and never left wondering what to do.
How do we choose a location? I’m not familiar with many photo spots in the area.
Choosing the right location can make such a difference in your final portraits, which is why I’ve thoughtfully curated a selection of my favorite family-friendly locations throughout the area. After booking, you’ll receive my Location Menu with hand-picked options chosen for beautiful light, natural scenery, and a relaxed experience for families with little ones.
Travel within 20 miles of Vacaville is included, and locations beyond that are available for an additional travel fee based on distance. Any travel fees will always be discussed and confirmed before your session.

Choosing what to wear should feel simple and supported. As part of any Signature Session, you’ll receive my Style Guide with tips for coordinating outfits, selecting flattering colors, and creating a timeless look that reflects your family. You’ll also receive personalized styling support by text, so you can send outfit options, ask questions, and feel confident in your choices before your session.
