During Your Session
Your session will be relaxed, thoughtfully styled, and guided with your little one’s personality in mind. We’ll capture a mix of classic milestone portraits, playful moments, and details that celebrate this season—from sitting, exploring, and those first little expressions of independence to a sweet cake smash if desired.
I’ll provide gentle direction while allowing your child to take the lead, creating images that feel natural, joyful, and true to who they are at this stage.
After Your Session
Your images will be carefully selected and professionally edited in my signature style. Photos will be delivered through a private online gallery, giving you access to download and preserve your portraits. For families who want to display their memories, professional prints and artwork are available through my trusted print partner.

The best time to book is a few months before your child’s birthday to ensure availability around your preferred date. Many families choose to schedule their session a few weeks before their child turns one so they have portraits ready to celebrate the milestone, but these sessions can be customized for any time during this special season.
What age is best for newborn photos?
For those sleepy, curled-up newborn portraits, I recommend scheduling your session within the first 7–14 days after birth. During this time, many babies sleep deeply and are less likely to wake during posing and transitions.
What age is best for first birthday photos?
While these sessions are designed around the one-year milestone, there is no “perfect” age. Some families prefer portraits around 9–12 months when babies are sitting, exploring, and showing their emerging personality. Others choose to celebrate closer to their first birthday with a cake smash or milestone session.

Can we keep or child’s photos private?

Yes! Cake smash sessions can be incorporated into your Signature First Birthday Session. We’ll create a simple, elevated setup using your preferred color palette, a favorite theme, or my collection of timeless props including a high chair, banners, blankets, and cake stands.
Where do sessions take place?
First Birthday Sessions can take place in my studio or outdoors, depending on the style you envision. Studio sessions allow for a more styled experience with curated props and backdrops, while outdoor sessions offer a natural, lifestyle-inspired setting with room for your child to explore.
Can siblings or family be included?
Yes. First Birthday Sessions can include your immediate family and siblings. We’ll capture a mix of milestone portraits of your child along with meaningful family moments that celebrate this season together.
If you are looking for a larger family experience or extended family portraits, a Signature Family Session may be the better fit.
What if my child is shy, doesn’t sit still, or doesn’t like the cake?
No need to worry—these sessions are child-led and designed around your little one’s personality. I’ll provide gentle direction while allowing time for your child to warm up, explore, and be themselves.
Not every baby loves a cake smash, and that’s completely okay! Some of the sweetest portraits come from simple moments of curiosity, play, and connection.
